We're going camping. Wanna come?

Who?

This trip is for all the Scouts that have joined Troop 243 in recent months.

Parents are also welcome to take part in this camp out.  (Really, you can.  We actually encourage it.)

What?

To finish the preliminary training for the new Scouts who have recently joined the troop, we go camping.

The purpose is to train the scouts in some of the basics of camping, cooking and clean-up, flag ceremonies, use of compasses and maps, and more.

This is an opportunity for them to get many of the requirements for Scout and Tenderfoot completed.

When?

The New Scout Patrol will be camping out Friday evening, June 3 through Sunday, June 5.

The Scouts should arrive at 6:00 PM on Friday at the Leetsdale VFW.  We will load the vehicles and travel to Camp Baker in Beaver County, at which time we will set up camp for the weekend.

The scouts can be picked up again at Noon on Sunday, again at the VFW.

Where?

We are camping at Camp Baker in Beaver County. The link below shows the location on Google Maps.  It can be used for navigation on a mobile phone.  If you need more, or better, directions please call Ray at 724-494-0272

Camp Baker

Why?

Why NOT?  We love camping and will take advantage of almost any opportunity we can to do just that.  Beside that, it is one of the best ways for Scouts to learn scouting and leadership skills.  It's kinda what Scouting is all about.
